I'm sure some of them do. What do you think ? I think it's a good thing to take care of hands and feet and make them look good. Nowadays it's for both male and female I suppose. I think that a Mini/PediCure for men is a little over the top. I believe that a simple trimming weekly will be enough for any woman to accept you as having good hygiene. Having good hygiene doesn't mean you have to do as women do. Just keep things nice, cut, and washed...simple.
Don't think it's very manly to see a guy go get his hands and feet done! UGH...give me a manly man.

My favorite part is the calf massage. I could sit there all day and let them massage me. I also like having so many polish colors to choose from. I don't like if I am trying to read a magazine and the pedicure person keeps talking to me. I also don't like when I can't understand what I am being asked because the person's English is so bad.This one is for Pedicure lovers....?
If you know any thing about reflexology this is good. I was studying reflexology on my own and a friend bought me a book I started using it along with my pedicures. What this type of foot message does is locate back problems. A real good example I can give you for instant. Some one wants a pedicure and they have a headache. Rub their big toe not harshly there many nerves in the toes that effect the body. Around the heel will relieve tension around the kidney area. Rub toes for sinus problems also. Different parts of the feet effect different parts of the rest of the body. Reflexology books can be found at your local library and also check the internet for more information. You can't charge extra without having a license but your customers should come back and what is more is that you don't advertise it to any one this is your own information. Keep it to yourself because sometimes it is for your better benefit.
I dont like the calf massage if they squeeze too hard. It hurt so badly one time, I had to ask the person to stop because I knew I was going to be sore the next day! I love it when the soap they use smells nice and the water isn't allowed to get cold (many times I have taken my feet out to have something done, put them back in and found cold water, ewww) Also, I think a pedicutist should ask a client wether or not theyt would like to have the razor used on the bottom of their feet or not. My feet are very sensitive, and quite frankly, the idea of having a stranger use a razor anywhere on me kind freaks me out.

My daughter and I do this 2 times a month, it's our bond time, for a couple of hours no preteen angst lol





The nail spa we go to has a wonderful owner, very hands on and she gets to know her clients and their needs. After just a few visits, she saw long term customer potential in us and offered us a package deal. That was 2 years ago and we are still going! She now offers it to all customers, calls it tips and toes. She has a room that is glassed off from the outer room. She can still observe all that goes on but it allows the package customers some peace and quiet. We can pick some tunes we like, talk about stuff and just relax. One investment she considered crucial is the ped chair..she upgrades every couple of years and it makes a huge difference.





I also like a range of services...parrafin ( sp?), stones, nail art, deep tissue massage. She also gives sample lotions, its a nice touch.





We pay a bit more than most of the strip mall nail salons but you know what? Worth every penny.
the foot and leg massage...it is so relaxing...actually, nothing is better than a pedicure...it makes me feel special..good luck with your new business...i am sure you will be successful...

well you go to the salon because that is where the professionals are at. but be careful where you go to get manicure and pedicure, i usually bring my own tools to help prevent me from getting a fungus.

well i dont go to a salon....i go to this dominican lady's house...she's awesome!!!! tomorrow im going to re-do my highlights, cut my hair, and straighten it....all that costs around $60...and my hair is super long and thick so that's a good price! she does everything tho...nails, eyebrow waxing, everything on every kind of hair.....dominicans are the best!!!!!

1. go to a salon/sallys beauty supply/sephora/etc. to get a good temporary dye. choose fun colours tht are really cool like red/black(if their blonde)/orange/pink/yellow/blue/purple..鈥?Make sure to read the instructions carefully (why not test on a doll b4 hand???) and then also teach ur daughter how to use it properly.





2. -make sure to have ALL the manicure supplies u need (nail files, buffers, TONS of nail polish, assorted nail stickers, stick on nails, go to a drugstore and pick up anything u need and tons of it cheaply)


-i say spend an hour watching youtube nail style videos LOL. well not exactly an hour, but u know, talk to a proffesional, maybe watch a few things. read a few fashion articles??

This gently exfoliating scrub will make your hands noticeably softer and smoother.





In a small bowl, mash:


1/4 of a peeled avocado


1 egg white


2 tablespoons oatmeal


1 teaspoon lemon juice





Combine well and apply to your hands. Leave the mixture on for 20 minutes, then rinse in warm water and pat dry.

Soak Recipe


1/2 cup sea salt


3 slices lime


5 to 10 fresh mint leaves


5 drops essential lime oil





Combine; add to a basin filled with warm water.





Scrub Recipe


3 limes


2 tablespoons white sugar


1 tablespoon sweet almond oil


15 fresh mint leaves (chopped)


5 drops lime essential oil





Cut limes into quarters. In a food processor, pulse pieces to a chunky pulp. Mix limes and remaining ingredients in a small bowl.





How-To:


Soak each foot 5 minutes; apply scrub with your hands, using circular movements around the foot, ankle, and calf. Remove the scrub with a warm, damp towel; apply a minty moisturizer.

Spare me comments about noise and dogs/cats not liking it. What works best to get the job done?Pedi paws, pedicure, or dremel?
Pedi Paws in my opinion SUCK.





It is noise,It takes forever to grind down a nail, i am bored by the time i get to the second nail....and the dogs wont stay for the whole hour it takes to cut all there nails.





Dremel is nosier, but is hell of alot better. Its faster and is more convenient. I can get all there nails done in 10 mins, as in pedi paws it takes me an hour.

I use a Dremel and it works great. With the big attachments on the Pedipaws and Peticure, I would think they would be less maneuverable and harder to use than the plain Dremel. I have the smallest cordless model for my dogs- inexpensive, easy to use, and gets the job done!
Dremel. It is no nonsense and gets the job done VERY well. I have had mine for three years and it has never failed me!!!!!





I have recently seen a PediPaws, and felt it was a lesser quality than the Dremel.
we persoanlly got pedi paws a week ago.....


i'd suggest to stick to the standard nail clipper, or, clip them down as far as you like at use the tool to round it off and shave a little more.

Get the dremel. All do the same job of grinding toenails but you can get other bits for a dremel. Its a more versatile tool.
I'm a cosmetologist, and I bought a Black %26amp; Decker brand dremel from Sears for acrylic nails-- it works GREAT on my dogs, so I haven't tried anything else!

The Peticure takes forever to trim the nail. I think it's only good for just getting jagged edges off a cut nail.

They are all pretty much the same, but the dremel will cost you less.

You just say you want a full set or simply say plain acrylics no polish/french tip/ or whatever color you want, they will know what your talking about. A lot of mani/pedi shops also have a book with different nail styles that you could just look at and choose from too.First time pedicure/manicure?
if you want acrylic just tell them ' i want acrylic nails ' but if you don't want them extremly long make sure you tell them not to make them super long as i have made that mistake before .





also ; if i may . i would suggest gel nails instead as its basically the same except for the fact that its much better for your actual nails.

I went to school for nails a few years ago, and we still gave pedicures to people with warts as they are not contagious. I'd suggest going to a nicer day spa/salon rather then a little shop like in the mall as they are more sanitary. Would hate for you to walk out with a virus, some type of fungus, or even worse...HIV/AID! It has happened!!
I would first go and get it removed and then go get one. Why would you want to draw attention to something with a wart?
As a former manicurist I would strongly suggest you have it removed first either by a doctor or try an over the counter medicine first. They do spread and you would be risking your manicurist as well as others to getting warts. It's not just a vanity thing.
